SAÏD FINDS THE LEAD AT HH SHARJAH RULER CUP - FEI JUMPING WORLD CUP SHOWS ARAB LEAGUE

Last night at the Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club in the UAE, Abdel Saïd riding Quaker Brimbelles Z, stole the spotlight by winning the CSI5*-W 1.55m HH Sharjah Ruler Cup, Saïd outclassed a competitive field of forty participants after two clear rounds, navigating the second with precision to stop the clock in 50.18 seconds.

This win marks Saïd’s second major success of the 2025/2026 Arab League season, following his impressive performance in December 2025 when he claimed the CSI3*-W title in Al Ain. The podium in Sharjah took on a distinctly international flavour, though Saïd’s nearest rivals couldn't quite match his pace. Germany’s Sophie Hinners claimed the runner-up spot, guiding Iron Dames Kaleni Jo through the course in 51.62 seconds, while her compatriot René Tebbel secured third place riding Paulus-L with a steady clear in 52.81. Ireland’s Shane Breen and Sweden’s Antonia Pettersson Häggström followed closely behind to round out the top five.

Earlier in the day, Irish fortunes were even brighter where Trevor Breen won the CSI5*-W 1.50m Presented by UAEERF class riding Konrad Obolensky. In a strong showing for the Irish contingent, Michael Pender won second place, leaving Germany’s David Will to settle for third.

As this CSI5*-W served as the final qualifier for the Arab League World Cup season, the Middle Eastern and North African showjumping community awaits the end of the month when the FEI will officially release the final standings.
