ELITE RIDERS AT CSIO5* DINARD 2025

(This is Rolex Series Equestrian event - no. 5 following Wellington, Rome, La Baule and Falsterbo)

Germany's Richard Vogel and Britain's Scott Brash, along with three French Olympic champions including Kevin Staut, the defending champion of Dinard 2024, will be competing at the Dinard International Showjumping Competition this weekend, from the 24th of July to the 27th, 2025.

Other top contenders include Abdel Saïd, Grégory Wathelet, Pieter Devos, Jérôme Guéry, along with Daniel Deusser—winner of the Rolex Grand Prix in La Baule last June—Philippe Weishaupt, and Katrin Eckermann.

NINE OF THE 13 BEST FRENCH RIDERS:

“Dinard Jumping is a fantastic competition, renowned for its extraordinary audience and unique terrain with elevation changes. Its rich history adds another dimension, reminding us of the roots of our sport”, says Kevin Staut.

Among the many French riders set to compete are Staut’s compatriots from the Rio Olympics, Philippe Rozier and Roger-Yves Bost. Julien Épaillard and Olivier Perreau, who secured team bronze last summer in Versailles, will also be participating. Nina Mallevaey aims to reaffirm the promise she has shown over recent months at Val Porée. With teammates Alexa Ferrer, Marc Dilasser, and Nicolas Delmotte, the French delegation looks particularly strong.

HIGH-LEVEL CSI3*:

Most of the CSI5* riders will also compete in the CSI3*, riding promising up-and-coming horses. Some are regulars at top-tier events, while others are local talents, including Edward Levy, Julien Gonin, Julien Lavarec, Margaux Rocuet, Alexandra Paillot, Robin Lesqueren, François-Xavier Boudant, Camille Condé Ferreira, Nicolas Layec, and several other French riders.

They will also be joined by the legendary Michel Robert, a multiple medallist at major international competitions for nearly 50 years. Now 76, Robert will compete with Calesto Z, the horse that helped him clinch victory at the CSI 3* Grand Prix at Le Pin au Haras on June 15.

“I wanted to return to Dinard”, Robert explains. “It’s a flagship competition. I won the Grand Prix there with Grand Cœur in the early 1980s. The spectators are extraordinary, the terrain is fantastic, and the conditions are excellent. Plus, it’s in a beautiful region. I’m sure I’ll have a lot of fun”.

Despite advancing years, Robert is not ready to retire. “Life decides for me”, confides the Isère native, who was Team World Champion in 1982. “My wife supports me, my horses are doing well, and I simply want to enjoy competing in beautiful events. Horse riding is my passion, I still love the sport and the challenge. I have no limits”.
