EQUESTRIAN AT THE 20TH ASIAN GAMES - JAPAN 2026
Final operational preparations are underway across Japan as the 20th Asian Games approach.
Scheduled to run from 19 September to 4 October 2026, the continental multi-sport spectacle will see Aichi Prefecture and the city of Nagoya host thousands of elite competitors representing 45 member delegations.
The upcoming edition marks the return of the event to Japanese soil for the first time in over three decades. Organisers have leveraged existing world-class infrastructure and Olympic heritage venues across the region to stage 43 sporting disciplines.
A major highlight of the schedule will be the FEI equestrian events, taking place from 21 September to 4 October at the renovated Tokyo Equestrian Park. Riders across Dressage, Eventing, and Showjumping will compete for continental titles.
In Showjumping, powerhouse squads will be defending their titles, led by Saudi Arabia - the reigning team champions - and veteran Saudi rider Abdullah Al Sharbatly, who returns after winning Individual showjumping Gold at the Hangzhou Games.
In dressage, Bahrain’s promising talent Aneesa Almahmood will be riding Samira O.
