THE AKHAL TÉKÉ BECOMES A HORSE OF HONOR

The Normandy 2014 Organising Committee is proud to announce that the Akhal Téké is now a Horse of Honor of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy!

More about the Akhal Téké:

This light horse, fast and enduring was trained for war and plunder by the nomads of Central Asia steppes for thousands of years.

Celebrated since ancient times for its beauty and its qualities, it has spread throughout the East, India, China and southern Russia.

He contributed to the birth of many breeds, including Arabians and English, Trakehner horse of Don.

Its modern name Akhal-Teke sign the claim of the present-day Turkmenistan as the cradle of the race.

In his home country, the Akhal-Teke is primarily a racehorse, but it is used in all forms of recreational riding and sports.

He is quick, responsive, generous effort. Very intelligent and sensitive, he learns quickly and is very attached to the man.

Endangered a few decades ago, the race has only about 6,000 horses, including 350 in France.

The National Association of Akhal-Teke breed France manages with the IFCE/Haras Nationaux two registers, thoroughbred and breeding, which are annexes to the General Studbook held in Russia.
