CSI5* W A CORUÑA WELCOMES TOP INTERNATIONAL HORSE-AND-RIDER COMBINATIONS

(Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Western European League - Leg 5/13)

This Friday the 5th of December will mark the start of a new edition of the CSI5* W Casas Novas, and the horse and rider combinations taking part in this prestigious international event have already been confirmed. In this sport, performance always depends on two protagonists—the rider and the horse—so all eyes will be on both in this eagerly awaited edition.

A total of 58 competitors will line up in the top-level classes, which form part of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™, and they have already announced the horses and mares they will be riding in the Casas Novas indoor arena.

Among the favourites is the Dutch combination of Maikel van der Vleuten and his inseparable Beauville Z N.O.P., with whom he has secured two individual bronze medals at the last two Olympic Games (Paris and Tokyo), as well as an individual bronze and a team silver at the 2022 European Championships. This year, they also finished third in the LGCT Grand Prix of Rome, held in September.

Another major Dutch name on the start list is Willem Greve, who arrives at Casas Novas with the mare Pretty Woman, with whom he already claimed a World Cup leg this season at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Stuttgart. In that same event, Christian Ahlmann also shone with Untouched, finishing inside the Top Ten after incurring only two penalty points. Untouched is by United Touch, the horse who won the gold medal at the European Championships held at Casas Novas.

Austria’s Max Kühner and EIC Colley Jump The Q will be another highlight of the show. Kühner is a reference on the international scene, and this combination has secured significant CSI5 victories over the past seasons.

Brazil’s Yuri Mansur will also be in attendance, arriving with QH Alfons Santo Antonio in excellent form after winning the Global Champions League Final with the Rome Gladiators at the Prague Playoffs just one week ago.

Sweden’s Wilma Hellström and Cici also return to Casas Novas following their outstanding performances last summer, when they were finalists at the European Championships in A Coruña, and they will be looking to repeat their success.

All spectators visiting the Casas Novas Equestrian Centre in Arteixo (A Coruña) will be able to enjoy an exceptional atmosphere, a unique setting, and the talent of some of the most outstanding athletes on the international circuit.
